Hello everyone Does anyone do shift work? I am type 1 and work 12 hour shifts as a carer and am struggling to control my blood sugars on a long shift. How do you cope? What do you find best to eat to keep them stable?
Hi, yes I work shifts too and I just have to spend a little more time planning my food, etc. It's not easy, especially if your breaks are varied. It does get easier but you just have to try and do the best you can , plan, try to eat similar foods if poss and prepare to adjust meds if necessary. Good luck !

Are you finding your going low or high? Are you eating different types of foods for your lunch etc everyday?
I eat a bowl of oats in the morning, and usually salmon/sardine/tuna or turkey/chicken salad for lunch. I find with these I dont have to use my daytime insulin at all.
