I read in the newspapers recently, that weight is controlled by a chemical gene in our head, which switches on automatically and gets the body to store fat, even under the most difficult of food consumption regimes.
The article suggested that the reason why people do not lose weight, is due to this gene and researchers here in Aussie are trying to come up with a chemical pill which turns the gene off, so that overweight people can lose weight and the advantages thus, for Diabetics.
Given that weight control, probably cannot be controlled for very long, before the body starts to store fat cells again, because of this gene, the only way left to have any sort of control of type 2 Diabetes, would seem to be from healthy eating habits, where fat, sugar and salt are excluded from diets and some exercise is included.
I have managed to remain Diabetes Type 2 free now, from the above regime, for over 2 years and my last eye check of my glasses showed that I had 20-20 vision for another year and no new glasses were necessary for the second year running.
