Hey guys well if you remember me I was diagnosed in May and at the time my Hbci was 74 and the nurse agreed to let me try with diet ! No meds well just had second bloods and I have lost waight and my Hbc1 is 35 ????
Yes I am over the friggin moon but also a little concerned I lost my taste months ago and I am not really eating that much I am eating but it's mainly salad ,meats , veg .
No carbs really to speak of.
I sort of feel on. A state of shock and I know it's fantastic but what if this is just because I am not eating much. My Dr says that I should be over the monn she is saying that I can afford to eat more and not worry , I have maybe yogurt or boiled egg for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch then for tea it's meat and veg .
What do you guys think xxx

Keep it up I'd say.
You're one of the good news stories.

Thank you all x just felt I little deflated as the Dr said the problem is once you start eating normal again ( not eating much at all ) it will go up again .
However spoke to a diabetic specialist nurse and she said that how much my numbers have come down so soon is amazing and she doesn't agree with the DR . She said the fact is the numbers have come down and even if I ate nothing they wouldn't come down like that ,
She was annoyed that the dR wasn't a little more positive ,she does want me to eat more but she thinks if I stick to my diet but increase portions I will be fine xx told her I had cut carbs and she well maybe try some ryvitta with your salad xxx

I agree with your nurse, not the Dr.

There are masses of absolutely delicious foods out there that you can eat to utter fullness that have minimal impact on your blood glucose.
(For me, these foods include cheese, dark chocolate, pates, coleslaw, cream...)
We're all different, but you can find a similar list of indulgent and satisfying foods ;)

You may find that after the weight loss you have a greater tolerance to carbs than before. But even if they still spike you, you can eat very well, for ever, choosing foods that keep your BG stable.

Congrats on your test scores, by the way!
