That may be because you're on insulinAfter telephone consultation I have an appointment with one in September so it’s possible on nhs, I never requested it, no idea of name or if any good though sorry.
I chose to see one privately when I was first diagnosed to see if I could possibly not be type 1 - a specialist who worked on my local hospital's specialist diabetes team and consulted after hours at the local private hospital. He was excellent. Unfortunately for me, he confirmed I was type 1 but it was good to have someone to argue the science with and perform other tests and monitor my c-peptide until I deteriorated onto insulin. It would be privately. There are quite a few that come up when I’ve searched on line and the one I have my eye on is a diabetic consultant and endo. Seems to fit the bill but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with a consultant in the UK.

I recommend you look up your diabetes specialist team in your local hospital. Your GP can help you with the names. Then check who sees private patients. It's against forum rules to list specialists/GP contact details and names.Hi Ert,
Would you be able to give me any details on the consultant?
