I have mild osteoarthritis in my ankle which gives my walk a different gait, that can cause some pain in the legs in addition to the ankle pain and I also take ramipril, which constricts the capillaries, causing a funny sensation. I also have diabetes of course but anything due to that is masked by the other problems. I also get cramps at night, but these may be due to the side effects of certain drugs.
One good thing came out of a trip to the podiatrist, they tested the circulation in my feet, which they said was good. Hopefully your GP will do the same or at least send you to see a podiatrist. If you do have poor circulation, it is often improved by stretching exercises and then some walking. Simple stretching exercises worked a treat for me when I started with all this. It could be anything but some simple stretching is a good starting point.
