If I didn't eat meat and fish then I would still have higher blood sugar levels- I'm almost the opposite to you- not really a meat lover but I eat a lot more meat then before my diagnosis just to keep my levels down.Health management needs to be optimistic. I don't like exercise, but I running like an athlete. I eat vegetables while imagining fried chickens. I can't eat most of the fruits. There is no meat, no cakes, and no wine on my diet. But, I was a meat-eater.
many here have found that it is reducing your carbohydrates that will bring your levels down and that may mean eating a lot more meat- and yes eat a roast chicken and in particular you can eat the skin. No you can't eat most fruit but the odd glass of wine- yes sure most can tolerate it. Some wine is obviously better than others.
I really recommend that you start your own thread and tell us your story and where you are today- there are so many amazing people here- maybe you will find it's not as bad as you think.
