Health management needs to be optimistic. I don't like exercise, but I running like an athlete. I eat vegetables while imagining fried chickens. I can't eat most of the fruits. There is no meat, no cakes, and no wine on my diet. But, I was a meat-eater.
If I didn't eat meat and fish then I would still have higher blood sugar levels- I'm almost the opposite to you- not really a meat lover but I eat a lot more meat then before my diagnosis just to keep my levels down.

many here have found that it is reducing your carbohydrates that will bring your levels down and that may mean eating a lot more meat- and yes eat a roast chicken and in particular you can eat the skin. No you can't eat most fruit but the odd glass of wine- yes sure most can tolerate it. Some wine is obviously better than others.

I really recommend that you start your own thread and tell us your story and where you are today- there are so many amazing people here- maybe you will find it's not as bad as you think.

A virtual hug as well.

You might get a better response if you start a new thread on this question. I have no experience with these drugs so can't help, ut I'm sure there will be those who can. Tagging a mod @Brunneria @crodie
