Hi I am type 1 and have been for 23 years, is this bad for me?

Hi @flan91 How has this happened ? if you've rubbed your toe on poorly fitted shoes then simply apply antiseptic, dress and take care, if it's appeared of it's own accord then it's best to go to your docs and get it looked at, also depends on your control too, as wounds on the feet can take longer to heal. I had an issue with my foot last year so just took a photo and sent it to my Diabetic Nurse who checked it with a podiatrist and was told it should heal fine, which it did but saved me a GP visit.

It looks inflamed. If it's an ingrown toenail it won't go away on its own, but I can't tell from the picture. Best see a doc about it either way. Sooner rather than later.

If your blood glucose control isn't decent it could take a while to heal......so you need to keep an extra special eye on it, daily.....keep it clean etc.....

certainly seek medical advice if you're unsure....

yeah i agree with everything said novorapidboi you need to take extra care and keep a eye on it please make sure you do my friend flan91 and keep us updated on the condition how its healing etc.

Keep a very close eye on it, if there’s any sign of heat, infection or it looking infected, go to the doctor ASAP.

Hope it heals quickly and doesn’t hurt too much xxx

It needs to be bandaged ,you should always try to wear socks etc

I would go and see a Doctor to make sure it doesnt get infected

Was it caused by your shoes ?? You also need to DRY your feet after shower and apply powder if necessary
