Hi
I've made a few posts on here. I'm a type 2 diabetic on metformin twice daily and been diagnosed for just over a year. I have been given great advice off people on here and found it really useful. I was just wondering if anyone has any complications like me. I suffer from high blood pressure, high chlosterol (sorry about spelling lol), and now heart disease/angina, which I have been told I will need surgery for. :(
I would be great to speak to others and share experiences and just generally talk to people who are going through/have been through the same experiences as me :D

hi all :D
just wanted to ask another quick question regarding complications. I have developed heart disease, and was wondering if this would be down to the diabetes since I have only been diagnosed about 18 moths ago is to to soon to develop complications like this or could i have had diabetes a lot longer and not have been diagnosed because I have also been refered to the eye hospital since having my eyes tested as there was abnormalities due to the diabetes.
Any comments suggestions anyone can give with regards both my posts would be very greatful
a confused kjc

Hi. I think we can only guess at whether the diabetes has caused some of your other complications. Your age and Hba1c readings over the last year might be useful to know. I suspect your historical diet and family genes are a basic cause and not the diabetes. Have you been on a low-carb diet since diagnosis? Do you have a meter to determine what foods affect you most? Whatever the past, all you can do now is to have the best diabetic diet and exercise and have the right medication if it's needed.
