I need to vent! so here goes.... :***:

So I'm 6 weeks into this, and having seen the DE for the second time (it was a new one this time) I've come to the conclusion that they are the same where ever you live, from reading on here and the advice she gave me!

So I have higher readings first thing in the morning, her advice... Drink a glass of wine on a night to lower the morning reading..
(but i'm trying to lose more weight?)

Why does a snack size snickers bar bring my BGL down from 10.9 to 5.9 ? - her answer because of the fat in it... so I say can I eat chocolate then, she says sure why not? (but i'm trying to lose more weight?)

And porridge oats and weetabix give me higher readings she says, as I lose weight I can eat them again as my BGL will have come down..

She asked why I was testing so much too? there is no need?????
I test before and 2 hours after meals... It keeps me accountable to what goes in my mouth and what BG numbers I get...

She also booked me into see the dietitian.. I can't think why? maybe she's afraid that I will follow the advice she gave me...
And all together now SIGH with me...

Cheers

(it's a good job that this site has excellent advice!)

Yup, it's all part of the global conspiracy by Diabetes 'professionals' to perpetuate ignorance for the sheer hell of it. Actually I blame the 'dieticians who mostly haven't a clue and even more so the food industry who have a vested interest in doping food with carbohydrates. I do find it amazing that this is a global problem but it shows just how insidious Group Think can be. Good job many of us do resort to some science-based evidence.

I had a brilliant dietician who agreed with my reducing my carbs and really helped me to try to put on weight ,but the next time I went she wasnt there and had been moved onto hospital work so I couldnt see her again .The new one said I didnt need to go again I dont think she knew how to help someone who wasnt overweight

So true, Daibell and Carol.

I have booked in to see the one at the doctors surgery and not at the clinic this time, hoping for better answers.

And i agree this group is invaluable for advice.

Cheers
