Diabetic eye screening

Just had mine again today about 12 hours ago and if i'm honest my eyes are still slightly sore and I have a headache :/

Only used drops once before and I can't remember, should I be feeling like this? Or should this feeling have gone by now?

It was embarrassing talking with my tutor afterwards, I think she thought I was on drugs or something :P
 
hi, after my eye test my eyes where funny for a few days, that stuff they put in is horrible :(

if you smoke some happy backky before speaking to your tutor the embarrassment will be gone, you will be too paranoid to be embarrassed :thumbup:
 
Hi. That's strange. I've had about 6 annual eye checks now and have never had any effects either during or after the screening apart from the usual blurred vision for a few hours. I wonder if different health services use different drugs or whether they affect people in different ways?
 
I have had iterally hundreds of eye examinations and procedures over the past six years and the length of me the effects of he dilaing drops perist has varied considerably.
As with many other things its all about the skill of he person who instills them

When the surgeon or an experienced and skilful nurse does it the minimum effective amount is delivered.. It goes where it ought
and has the efect it is supposed to have for the time necessary.

Others use too much . I have even experienced total blindness for a few seconds when too much has been used.
Sometimes I need to dry my face and even my neck when they are very inept. Not to mention the stained clohing etc , when as often happpens the iodine drops which follow the dilating drops are poured all over me,

I have ,on several occasions continued to experience blurriness on the following day and once or twice for longer.the effec.
This is at the same hospital, each time.
Regarding the headache and the slight feeling of diorientation the OP experienced - it may be that she is sensitive to the bright
light -unduly large doses of he drops will exacerbate this problem.
 
As to the use of different drugs/doses, in my area My wife, daughter and myself have all had drops administered and the effect has always been at least 2 days effect. Whan I mentioned this to the screening nurses, they performed the screening sans drops 8) with apparently no ill effects, so, come back in 12 months! 8)

Never had the soreness after the eye drops but you can get a headache as your vision is effected and you squint to see untill the drops wear off, the best way of knowing if your vision is still effected is to look in a mirror, the pupils of the eye's will still be dilated.
 
Hello! I'm t1 for the last two years
My hb1ac is at a perfect level- 40

But it still says I've had moderate change in one eye

Is this a concern :) ?

Well I'm guessing the best thing to do would be to ask the eye screening team themselves? As they most likely know if it's something to worry about
