diabetic kit bag

Hi
Im type 2 diabetic and was on tabs to control my BG now Im also using the Byetta pen injections twice a day and was wondering are their any kit bags available to carry all meds for like holidays we do like to travel to Belgium and thought it would be better to have all my meds and injection stuff together in one place

When travelling, there's a lot to be said for keeping supplies separate in case you lose some eg carry enough for the day, but keep remainder separate. However, all should be in hand luggage to limit risk of theft from, or temperature damage in, plane or bus holds. Personally, I reckon Desang bags are too expensive and too bulky, so I use a pencil case instead for day supplies.
 
Hello Copepod, I hope you don't mind me taking part in this discussion. I decided to do Desang kitbags because after many years of carrying diabetic clobber around with me, I was fed up of only using pencil cases and wash-bags. Cheap they may be, but I thought my kit needed appropriate 'luggage' hence the kitbag range. Due to the fact that I only do relatively low volumes, having them made of leather is pretty much the only way I can get them made, but it does mean they are a bit of an investment. It's lovely to see the other comments about them on this site. We're all different with different meds and kit, so a Desang kitbag might not be for everyone -- I'm adding to the range when I can. I've also noted in other discussion the dilemma that I've come across too -- where you draw the line between limiting what kit can be fitted in, and the overall size of the kitbag? Sometimes people say, 'why don't you add a pocket for a mobile phone?" , or 'keys', or 'address book'.... I have to (gently) tell them that someone's already done that -- it's called a handbag...! I try and stick just to mainstream kit to keep the kitbags as diabetes-focused as possible. Best wishes, Sue
