Diabetic Medical Alert Bracelet

I've been recently diagnosed with diabetes and my husband wants me to get a medical alert bracelet in case of an emergency.

I'm currently diet controlled and Type 2 and not too worried about getting one myself. However, he's worried what would happen if I had an accident or collapsed/fainted!

I want something that is relatively inexpensive and not too obvious. So, something discreet that looks like a normal piece of jewellery. I know you can get silicone bands cheaply but I don't want one of those. I'd like a silver or two tone metal bracelet with possibly a tag. I have spotted something something that may be suitable on eBay but I don't think it will be big enough for my wrist. I think it said up to 7 inches and mine is probably 8 to 8.5"

Can anyone help at all and point me in the right direction?

Thanks :)

I've got a medic alert bracelet. https://www.medicalert.org.uk. I would recommend them! Have a hunt through the site, they do all sorts of jewellery. I've also signed up for their alert because I'm insulin dependant but you don't have to, you could just have your hubbys phone number on it as an emergency contact. Although in my case I do need it, it has actually helped alleviate my family's anxiety so for that alone I think it's worth it! Sue xx

If you have a look at my avatar, I have a necklace, I got this on Amazon.
I tried a bracelet but my work damaged it. So this stays on my neck!
Card in my wallet. Instructions and information for medicos.

I don't think HCPs would need to know someone was a T2 with diet control because I think it's unlikely that it would make any difference to treatment, until such time as you were awake and could tell them (when it comes time to plan your food in hospital, for example). So your thoughtful hubby might have one less worry :) But if it makes him happy, that's a good thing isn't it?

Wow there are a few good options to choose from. I think it is worth it for peace of mind. I have been thinking of getting one myself so its good to know there are different options out there.
