Interesting the variation around the country. I get a letter from the NHS Retinopathy team at my local hospital and have the screening done there within a specific department. It always works very well.
This is the official screening. I get one letter from the screening service, and one from the nhs. There's a list of qualified and local opticians I can choose from. I'm not given the option of a mobile screening clinic, so I was wondering if you lived somewhere classified as 'remote' to get that choice.
I live in East Lancashire, so not at all remote. We do have excellent primary care facilities in my small town though, with an excellent health centre and a modern community hospital run by the GPs. We are very lucky.
