hello I am 31 years indian male and recently i checked my blood sugar in a BSL machine and realise it is high about ,11 mmol/ltr after 2 hours having food. However it came down to 6.3 after another hour. i checked by Fasting blood sugar very next day and it was 5.5 mmol /ltr. I continued to check my blood sugar before and after meal and noticed it always shooting up after meals and coming down to normal with 2-3 hours. My height is 164 cm and weight 71 kg . I have family history of T2DM. So what you think , am i diabetic or prediabetic..... but still i am wondering do i need to See GP and start meds as i dont have any symptoms of diabetic.

Probably prediabetic with those numbers but you must see your doctor and ask for a HbA1c test. If you are prediabetic then you have a very good chance of getting it under control and not progressing if you take action now. By the time you start getting symptoms, it will be much more difficult to control.

We aren't doctors I'm afraid, so we cannot diagnose you.

If you are concerned you need to see your doctor and ask for a diagnostic blood test. These are not the same as the finger prick tests you have been doing.

Hi. Those figures suggest you should see the GP and ask for more tests. In the meantime keep the carbs down and you may see the blood sugar go down and not even register as a pre-diabetic.
