So today I went for my annual diabetic review.
Had my hbac1 done so hoping to be classed in remission this time after successive scores of 32.
However upon leaving today I was given this information pack with information on what I should and should not be eating .

Can’t believe they are still handing out this ****. And they wonder why so many people fail to go into remission.

Depends who we think "they" are. You're assuming that "they" want anyone to go into remission. Have you seen the list of corporate partners of Diabetes UK? Instantly null and void.

PS. I would probably obfuscate any personally identifiable information from that pic. Full name and barcodes...

Hi. This is PHE/NHS advice replicated out. Same as all the other health charities. It's all driven by food industry funded research therefor best ignored. It's criminal that so much rubbish is churned out but that's the world we live in. Thank goodness for this forum

That would be an interesting conversation with your diabetes nurse/doctor/specialist.

Why are you recommending that I eat something that I am not eating at the moment, something that would cause my HbA1c to increase?

I wonder what their reply would be. I feel very lucky and possibly privileged that neither my GP or nurse give me any grief about my diet, in fact the nurse is positively supportive.

Well done on your results. Must be something you ate. (small attempt at being amusing). Take care.

I actually find it a bit amusing that they give you this information after you have already brought your levels down- are they disappointed? I really an't understand how they can see your improvement and not want to know why/how so they an help other people.

thank goodness for this site!

be thankful you still have a GP service, mine seems to have outsoured it to some Swedish outfit that demands thd right to send all my data to Korea wher it will subject to South Korean data protection laws.

TBH as it usually took 4 to 6 months to get an apointment pr-covid I havent really noticed much differance!!!!
