Hi all
I was diagnosed in September with level of 76, I had a blood test 9 weeks later and it had reduced to 45. Since that last blood test (in December) I think my levels will have reduced further. My sugr app estimates 37 ( I know these aren't that accurate), my readings are rarely above 7.8 after eating ( at one and two hours), pre meals usually in the 4s. My fasting levels are abit higher than normal, usually under 5.4 but sometimes higher but only occasionally above 6.
Anyway, I had diabetic review with a doctor just now who was impressed with my reduction in hba1c and weight loss (2stone). But then said I need to increase my medication from one metformin a day to two.
I'm really surprised at this especially as she said it doesn't really lower blood sugars. I do usually follow the doctors advice but with diabetes it seems different and I'm not sure whether to increase or stick with one.
