Mmmmm Pear drops..yum!Hi Patrick, I have just found sainsburys sell Free From Fellows pear drops and rhubarb and custard sweets. They both, in my opinion, taste like the real sweets. Sula humbugs are nice too but harder to get hold of. M&S do a selection of sugar free sweets usually around their checkouts too. It's nice to have them around but they can have a laxative effect if you eat too many.
Aha, we have an Aldi. Must investigate. Thanks.I have an Aldi near me and they do Sugar Free Sherbet Lemons and Clear Fruits in small boxes by the tills.
Love them!
Yes they do have an unfortunate laxative side effect if too many are consumed.Marks and Sparks do 'sugar free' hard boiled sweets in different flavours. A stall in our local market specialising in sweets has a selection of sugar free jelly babies, which I tend to favour. At £1 per 100grms they have no affect on my BS but if you eat to many you'll need your running shoes on! Unfortunately, I don't know the name of them. On my next visit I'll try to remember to write the name down off the container.
They would be ineffective for fixing a hypo I would have thought, pretty much the same as a phan in a phart phactory would be.A stall in our local market specialising in sweets has a selection of sugar free jelly babies, which I tend to favour. Sugar free liquorice? Am all ears.Update re Sula Sweets -
Mint Humbugs taste exactly like the genuine article.
Fruit Mix was also very nice. No strange aftertaste.
Have yet to try Buttescotch or the Liquorice. Stay tuned lol.
I can remember when sugar was still on ration in the 1950's, a lolly shop near the school I went to sold liquorice root that had the dirt washed off. Just chew on the stick to get the flavour out, it was better than nothing.Sugar free liquorice? Am all ears.
Thanks. I was looking longingly at various packs of liquorice the other day, studying the backs of the packs. I had to put them down and walk away. Will post on here when I’ve tried it..

Depends what they are. Often it’s maltitol. Personally it spikes me, others I know are ok with it. I seem ok with the rest though but they don’t get used as often, must be more expensive or something. Most low carb fake bars are maltitol too.Thanks. Edit - but the polyols are okay?
Does anyone have any recommendations for sugar free diabetic friendly sweets or chocolate ?.
I see a huge range on places like Amazon and am just wondering if anyone has tried anything they've enjoyed, particularly in the fruity tasting department eg Lemon Sherbet ?.
I know about Werthers sugar-free but just now and again my taste buds fancy something a little more flavourful.
Thanks
