Diabetics Must Avoid Eggs!

I eat at least 12 eggs a week 10 more than pre diabetes, no problems up to now.

I won't follow this advice to the letter.
On an average week I eat less than 1 egg a week!

Mind you, that's because I hate eggs. Apart from in cake :cry:
Which I don't eat much of these days :wink:
 
I remember reading somewhere, not that long ago, that fried bacon and eggs are good for diabetics. Apparently helps prevent heart attacks. wish I could remember the referece. "Nutrition and Metabolism " perhaps
 
I used to love eggs but im allergic to them and nuts amongst many other things :(

Assuming one egg contains 200 mg cholesterol, consuming one additional egg a day increased total cholesterol by 0.111 mmol/L, LDL cholesterol by 0.100 mmol/L, HDL cholesterol by 0.016 mmol/L and the ratio of total to HDL cholesterol by 0.041 units. The ratio of HDL to LDL cholesterol decreased by 0.011 units.
In studies with a background diet low in saturated fat, the change in LDL cholesterol was weaker than in those with a background diet high in saturated fat. Each additional 100 mg of dietary cholesterol increased LDL cholesterol by 0.036 mmol/L versus 0.061 mmol/L.

I will not avoid eggs, I didnt in the early nineties with Eggwina and all the problems she caused.

Not eat eggs?! No way I love my eggs. don't have the very often but enjoy them when I do. Love duck eggs!! Mmmmmmmm :D
 
hey guys put it into context - some studies a few years ago showed eating eggs daily had no effecton cholesterol. Every week a study is published opposing the one the week before.


99% of dietitians have never told people to stop eating them.
