Diabetics R Us

Morning all

Daughter's birthday today so we are going out for a family lunch later.

Red bush tea sounds delicious if a bit wild and woolly.
We're drinking more & more red bush tea, it's naturally caffeine free and delicious.

Have a good day.

H :)

I had to look Redbush tea up. I'd never heard of it.

Me neither. I'm picturing red currant bushes like the ones Uncle Wiggily and the muskrat wins got into.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, @heh .

How are you feeling today, @Guzzler ?

I will see if my store carries redbush tea. ... ETA: yes, they do. It's called roibos here.

I'm fine, thank you. Back to just having a tiny bump ulcer. No idea what all that was about but it gave my XL sons summat to laugh about!

There are surely though plenty of threads that people with any form of diabetes can join in with !
My own thought is that having dedicated threads for T1 , T2 and the other forms of diabetes , I think is just so people can have a level of assurance that what they read in them dedicated threads is specific to their diabetes type!

My own view is I do not think the forum has been set up to separate us all, but rather when it comes to the types of diabetes as above it makes it easier that's all and again there are still plenty of threads that are open to all types of diabetics ! As newbie that's my take on the forum set up anyway !

Hello and welcome. This thread was set up in response to a particularly fraught few days on the forum in general when members seemed to be splitting into groups and there were some ugly arguments. This thread was a great (and successful) way to bring people from all sides together no matter what type of Diabetes they have to chat about Diabetes in general among other things. No one is excluded from any part of the forum and people can dip in or out of any subfora as they wish.

This is mainly a chat thread and was started when the T1s opened one just for them. We have a laugh and some harmless banter, with a bit of T2 issues thrown in.

Not only T2 issues, unless I turn out to be a T2 after all.

It must be frustrating, even when you know that treatments won't change others aspects of life can change with a firm diagnosis. Fi gers crossed for you.

It is, although it isn't really isn't that big a problem. Just stung a bit when I read this: "We have a laugh and some harmless banter, with a bit of T2 issues thrown in." I thought this thread was especially for ALL diabetics (and people with prediabetes or other bg issus as well). I am happy to post my diabetic frustrations here, and I feel heard. And even if many of you don't have experience with insulin, you all are still willing to think along when something insulin related happens, I like that a lot.

It's late, I'm tired, and i'm sure Bluetit didn't mean it was only for T2's so I'll give myself a kick under the bum (How do you say this correctly in English? This isn't right but what is?) and go to bed.

Sleep well, all of you!

It is the phrase 'Kick up the bum' or backside that you are looking for.

As we all know, text doesn't always convey meaning and we all slip sideways sometimes.
Good night Antje, sleep well.

"History" is quite often viewed & written from many different angles.
The reference of historical time line events are not always appropriate regarding the "linear" passage of time..

This gen chat thread like any other, is just another horse in the race. "Excessive use of the whip" will not be tolerated.
You probably guessed by now, I'm one of the "stable grooms" that keeps an eye on the welfare of all the Geegees in this event. :)

Morning all

There is frost on the motorhome roof this morning - it's cold outside

Alan is seeing the doctor today as he's had knee pain for a while, I hope it's not another problem to add to his growing list of ailments

Why is it that when you tumble dry bedding everything gets caught up in the quilt cover and doesn't dry properly?

Have a good day.

Oh dear, I am so sorry I upset you. Of course, you are right and I was wrong. This thread is for all diabetics and those with other glucose problems, open to all forum members. I hope you didn't do any damage to your bum when you kicked it, and that you forgive me. :)
