Diabetics R Us

Yes, they do. :)

What do Dutch robins look like? We have robins here but they are not the same bird as English robins.

...

The fog at mid-morning is even thicker than it was before dawn. So I decided to have some "heart-healthy" (low cholesterol, medium-carb, vegetable-beef) soup for lunch. So I open the can, and in comes the KittenCat, asking for some. So I open a can of her cat beef, and when I have bent down to put the plate on the floor I lift up her front end and kiss her between the ears. And I say:

Ho ho ho! It's the KittenCat!
Here ya go! Whatcha think of that?

And I guess she thinks well of it, because she starts to purr as she curls down to eat.

Gotta go get my soup now. Test BG first, then again later.

Here's a little robin for you, photographed in the city of Amersfoort in 2016. (Have done that again many times since, but this was the first one I found). Give your cat some love for me! :)

Made me think of this.

This is so sweet!
If you like listening to very varied songs with a lot of them from the first part of the last century I can recommend looking up 'Theme time radio hour'. Newer music comes along as well, and every episode is centered about a theme like 'dogs', 'taxes' or 'coffee'. There's a lot of talk between the songs to connect them and to give background information and personal opinions, but the talking is by Bob Dylan, who turns out to have a wonderful radio voice.

It’s night time in the big city
Rain is falling, fog rolls in from the waterfront
A night shift nurse smokes the last cigarette in a pack

Listening to it now.

He looks like the morning after! lol. Or maybe Sunday morning and then Saturday night.

@JoKalsbeek and @Bluetit1802 you have very good cameras and a good eye.

Here is an American robin. I did not take this picture but we do have plenty of these in our garden.

I didn't realise they differed so much! Ours are much puffier, different markings... Live & learn. I miss having a garden, we just have a very bare balcony. Otherwise I'd probably be out there with a telezoom and macro all day long.

Book 25 or so in the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey. Magical talking horses and kingdoms to be saved by ridiculously good people with magical gifts.
In my defence, I don't do television. Anyone know another wonderful phantasy book series I can lose myself in? This one's almost finished...
Robin Hobb's books... Start with Assassin's Apprentice and go from there. The Liveship books, Elderling tales etc all end up being trilogies that play out in the same world, and merge.

Most days I feel like the rained-out robin! :) Slightly miffed, ruffled, but still standing, haha. Lovely pics.... What camera do you use? I used to be all Canon, all the way, but they were just too heavy for me. Went with an Olympus system camera since last year, and now haul 4 lenses or so around... Which wasn't doable with the Canons.

Morning all

Managed a lie in till 6am today

Nothing planned for the day, may go for a walk later.

Have a good day.

H :)

I don't have a posh camera. These were taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 bridge camera a few years ago. Birds are my passion rather than photography, although I have spent many hours photographing them. I lost interest but fully intend to rekindle my love.
