Diabetics R Us

This is NOT the proper thing to do on Ash Wednesday. I realize that. I can only plead happiness and relief at finally having been able to get a ride to and from the vet with the KittenCat, who has lost another 1/10 of a pound since October. She had an appointment on Monday but the Uber app would not work and apparently the cab company we have all been using for years suddenly went out of business with no notice on its website or VM. So today we went there and back with an Uber intermediary, so on the way home I asked our driver if we could stop and pick up a hamburger. The result -- now that we are happily back home, relieved (especially the KC) --

You're right. And I could have eaten it without the bun once I got home, I just didn't even think about that! Oh, well. I can always try again next year. :)

Now to throw away the fries ...

The KittenCat is fine, thank you for asking. She just needed to have her annual senior blood work done. She had her vaccinations done last fall but I couldn't afford the blood work until now. I wish there were Medicare for senior kitties. But having it for me means I can take her to the vet when necessary AND feed us both. She has her own bank account but sometimes I have had to borrow from it.

How is the huge dog?

Good to know your cat is faring well! Never heard of annual blood work for a cat, unless ill. On the other hand, humans don't do yearly bloodworks here either, unless there's a specific reason for it.
Naimah turns out to be the sweetest dog I've ever met and she wants to play with the rather small dogs. They don't want to play with her. I think mine won't be her forever home, but she's welcome to stay here for as long as it takes.

Evening all

I was going to do some ironing but decided to give it a swerve

I can't remember the last time I ironed anything. The other night the dryer left a couple of things damp, so it also left them wrinkled. For the first time in years I missed having an iron.

Morning all

Unfortunately I have to iron as I don't think my employers would be too happy if I turned up in creased clothes

We're off for the weekend in the motorhome after work tonight . Folkestone this weekend.

Have a good day.

H :)

Yesterday I cleared out half of the barn with a couple of friends for my birthday party tomorrow, as a campfire party with wind up to 9 Beaufort plus lots of rain doesn't seem very festive. Unbelievable how much junk had accumulated, caught the escaped male sheep (ram?) of my neighbour twice and went out for dinner with my aunt and her GF.
Didn't manage my bg too well with dinner but not too bad either. The sheep catching made me hypo (hard to think about bg when pulling with all you have on a sheep's horns) but well, it happens.
Today is for finishing the barn, big shopping an big cooking for tomorrow, but it already involved catching the naughty sheep twice as well.

I don't iron because I pack my ironing up and give it to a lady who does it for me. She collects and delivers, everything beautifully ironed and bigger things like duvet covers are folded neatly in covers, clothing on hangers. Not very expensive and worth every penny. She charges by the weight.

Your planned party sounds great, @Antje77 . And a great place to hold a party. I also love the sheep. He looks like a ram (entire male), I think otherwise he'd be called a wether. Either way he is a handsome fellow! Maybe one day you can adopt a Border Collie or a Corgi. Or maybe one of these --

I fully expect to end up with a dog like this one (hope the link opens, not sure what I'm doing...): https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=273126536650871

FINALLY got the KittenCat's lab results back late this afternoon. When they didn't call me I figured "No news is good news" but I was still glad, when I finally called them to get a report of "all normal." Yay! She, of course, slept right through the phone calls. :)

Have a great party tomorrow!

Good news for the cat, looking forward to my party, not in the least because that means all the preparing will be finished :wacky:, and started posting the licking cat video to friends who are having their birthdays on facebook :hilarious:

At least I'll have food for all of next week after the party as I probably made way too much to start with and of course almost half the guests called off at the last moment :P
