Diabetics R Us

So far so good on our holiday. The weather has been glorious, lots of sunshine and not a lot of breeze, still not red hot but it is only March. Today we have booked a 2 hour canal trip on a horse drawn barge from Llangollen to the Horseshoe falls and back. Not at all sure if Ness will notice we are being pulled by a horse, but if the horse gets tired she could very easily take over. She pulls enough! I will post piccies of the holiday when I get home. I can only do it from my PC.

Sounds idyllic. Envy fest here. Hope the weather holds fair for the rest of your holiday, the forecast looks good.

Well, the owner is looking for help with painting the ship and all other stuff that needs to be done at the moment. Temporary job until the end of april which doesn't pay too well, but you get to live aboard in addition to your pay. And there's at least 2 weekends of sailing planned for april, so you'll get to enjoy that as well.
Want to come over?

The barge trip sounds great. What kind of horse pulls it?

I don't know the breed. They look like shire horses but not as big. They are big, strong looking, sturdy, have long feathers down their lower legs, placid, gentle giants, in a variety of colours and markings. Does that help? I'll post a photo when I get home. In the olden days when the canals were first built, late 1700's, carters were enticed to the canals with their cart horses to work with the barges, so possibly the present day ones are descendants in some way.

Yes, possibly they are. They sound lovely. I love Shires and Clydesdales and other draft horses. :)

I just took an online quiz. It told me my favorite "brew" is Guinness.

I thought, What else is there?
