Diabetics R Us

I love Northumberland especially the beaches and castles. Let me know if you find the car keys I lost on the beach at Amble 25 years ago!
Do you still have the car though?

We are staying near the coast, between Seahouses and Bamburgh, so plenty of sun (Hopefully), sea, and castles. We have been several times to that area and love the whole coast line. I will keep an eye out for your 25 year old keys ;)

Yes @Pipp the forecast is looking quite good.

Off on holiday tomorrow. We are going to Northumberland for a week. Our previous holiday went belly up when the car broke down 7 miles in to our journey. Fingers crossed we make it this time. :arghh:

I do remember your car breaking down

Wishing you get there and back problem free

Enjoy Northumberland way aye

Nope. The repairs would have been more than the car was worth, so we scrapped it and bought another. This was the second time we had to do this whilst on holiday, but this time we were only 7 miles from home so came home with the car and recovery truck. The previous time were in mid Wales and had to hire a car to finish the holiday and get us home. That was fun. Not.

Well there's a novelty! Myself and middle XL son just had the Tex Mex Casserole from the recipe on Dietdoctor and he (the only picky eater in our house) ate it and the accompanying side dish without jumping up to butter half a bloomer to eat with it. This is certainly a red letter day, that man is addicted to bread to say the least! Job's a goodun'.

Now then People. There is probably a high proportion of you that know this trick but I just discovered it today and thought I'd share it with others. If your XL sons are like my youngest then your George Forman Grill rarely gets a good cleaning. I nagged my lad to do it today for shamesake and he was struggling and I suggested using the handheld part of my steam cleaner to loosen the dead bits. It took just minutes to sanitise the whole thing! Why didn't I think of it before. It (the George Forman) can now go back to the cupboard under the sink where it normally lives ;)

We don't use ours any more you loose all the good fats.

I was never fussy on it, to be honest but the lads like it probably because they do not have to clean it until I throw a paddy. They have got used to frying stuff in lard/butter now though so why they keep getting the grill out is beyond me.

I hate the feeling that the separate threads have been created. Isn't the whole idea to be supportive and friendly towards everyone? Do we really need separate threads for T1 and T2? This has really saddened me. So I've created this thread.

"A place for us diabetics to have a chat, post blood glucose numbers if you want to, have some fun and banter and a even have a little whinge."

good idea, well said, and Absolutely that some fun and banter is a vital requirement, wishing you a lovely evening from Mallorca, just off for a slurp of good old spanish very very dry white vino, and salmon on bed of lemon, green beans with garlic and olive oil drizzled, yogurt with fresh strawberries, 3!!! and nuts, been surfing most of the day so starving.
