I am new to the above medication and collected my first prescription with the view to start taking it for the first time today. I am asking a question on here as pharmacy is now closed and will not be open till Tuesday as with my GP surgery and the instructions seem contradictory so have not started...help please

They are as follows:-
Two to be taken once a day with Evening Meal for 2 weeks, then if tolerated increase to One Twice A Day with Food. So, I am somewhat perplexed

Welcome to the forum @gil262500 , I would say there is an error there! I was started on one once a day, increasing to one twice a day after a week. However I’m not suggesting you do this. A couple of days delay in starting won’t make much difference in the big scheme of things, Metformin has quite a mild action. Speak to you dr after the bank holiday. In the mean time learn about what is best to eat for a type 2, diet will have far more impact than the tablets. Have a read of this blog, written by one of our members:
