Thanks eggs11Hey @midastouch, just to say welcome to the forum! Sounds like you are off to a great start.
Thanks for that detailed explanation on the liver dump. When I first did my own readings my fasting figure was well into the double figures for the first few days. Steadily coming down daily, and the 6.1 I had this morning is my lowest yet so I'll continiue with what I'm doing as it seems to be working for me so far.
Hi and welcome, best wishes for continued success you seem to be to a flying startWent for a doctor's appointment a few weeks back with tingling feet and had a blood test done. Reading was 84 which the doctor explained was evidence of diabetes. My cholesterol was also high. She wanted to put me on medication but I refused as I had an inkling that I was at least pre-diabetic, and had read Michael Mosley's books on controlling same with diet.
Needless to say that blood reading was a real kick up the backside for me and I have been eating a very low carb diet for the last two weeks or so. Also exercising every day as my work consists of a lot of sitting at my computer which is not good. Anyway, I've got my weight down from 184 lbs to 176 lbs and this morning's fast reading was 6.1 [the lowest it's ever been]. Went up to 7.3 before I ate at midday [skipped breakfast] and two hours later was still 7.3.
Long way to go but I just wanted to introduce myself and thank you all for your posts which I've been reading constantly since my diagnosis - you really are a helpful and inspiring bunch.
I think you might be experiencing the infamous glitch.. I see only Type 2 - Member under the OP's avatar@midastouch . Welcome to the forum.
I'm slightly confused. Your avatar states ...insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. Yet your initial post says you refused medication.
For clarity and appropriate advice going forward is the avatar correct?
Magic start, great BGs and I agree with @Bluetit1802 about avoiding the dawn dump. Coffee with cream seems to do the tricks for me.
