I was officially diagnosed 3 weeks ago, they are not 100% sure what type but are treating me for type 2. I go to see an endocrinologist later this week. My initial at home blood glucose test was 523mg/dl or 29.1 mmol/l, which prompted the doctor visit. Doctor said my a1c was 11. My fasting glucose after that first at home test was in the 320's mg/dl, after a lot of walking that got it down to 270's. The doctor put me on metformin, bp and cholesterol meds, plus soliqua, which is a long acting insulin with a glp1 med. My glucose numbers bounced around quite a lot but steadily came down. I was having a lot of side effects that prevented me from working, so I stopped taking all the pills. I started a low carb diet which helped get my glucose down to normal numbers. Came across the newcastle diet and am on day 3 of that. This morning my fasting glucose was 82 mg/dl, no meds at all. I am using the Libre 3 CGM. I am feeling pretty good right now. My initial weight was 155 pounds (70kg) and now down to 147 (67kg). My glucose response seems to be normalizing, but not sure so I will have to check with my doctor. Anyway, looking forward to the results of this journey and seeing other peoples experience. I am located in the United States by the way.
