diarrhea and diabetes medication

Hi Tobby,
Sorry, but your link above seems to be broken.
Could you try it again please!
Thanks,

Ask your GP for Immodium Syrup. It is Prescription Only, works faster than the tablets and will stop the runs. Personally I had to come off Metformin, made me ill.

I have the same problem, can't keep food in at all.
Food starts going through when I eat next meal.
Empty bowels 3 times a day, travelling is i nightmare.
Have been using Imodium, worst bout lasted 2 months.
Have switched to 6 small meals and no liquid with meals.
Has anyone got a diagnosis.

I really didn't tolerate metformin very well, and had all the side effects, nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, diarrhoea and wind. I was running to the loo up to five times a day, and had to always make sure a toilet was handy after eating. And it didn't help me lose weight. My GP wouldn't take me off it despite all of this, but it has now been discontinued by my Consultant, thank God! I feel much better now.
The only things that helped was to eat something every 21/2 hours, and to take the tablet whilst eating, not before or after

Have you tried eliminating wheat from your diet? I can't eat wheat and take metformin.

I suffered for 3+ years while taking metformin I recent swapped to slow release and the problems have all but disappeared...

Yep but as said above depends what I am eating, I find if I eat blander foods I am fine , so beer and a curry is now out :)

I have IBS so GP put me on Slow Release Mwtformin straight away but I do have spells of. Diarrhea and pain, and now the Forxigia causes constipation so sometimes by guts are confused!! And then I feel very uncomfortable! However, GP says it will all settle down........... Just wondering when!

It gets better. Tip is to take your met whilst you eat , not before or after. So its sandwiched between your food. It worked for me and i was feeling really ill with it.
