Have to confess I'm a print person too. Like you I use other sites and must admit I have printed some of them too. I am building up quite a collection of my favourites. I'd forgotten what a pain it is to get to the recipe you want - I must just be getting used to it.I think my only real issue with the DD website is the cumbersome navigation.
Every time they ask for feedback, it is my first comment.
There are far too many clicks to navigate from 'sign in' to 'keto menu 5' if I want to check the recipe, or see what meals are included in this week's menu, so I can plan tonight's cooking.
I have had to print the recipes out onto... drumroll... prehistoric paper (!) because I got impatient with endlessly navigating to the week's menu, to then find tonight's recipe.
Usually, when I cook something from the internet I do it with the tablet beside me on the kitchen countertop. With DD I prefer to waste paper, and save the irritating navigation time.
Other than that, I would LOVE the more adaptable meal planner that @maglil55 mentions.
Just had crackslaw for teaI will have a read back of the early posts when Mr C finishes his holiday.
I remember that first Asda DD delivery - all that cabbage and eggs and cream - not forgetting the huge amount of butter. We still get through around two dozen eggs a week as DD got me in to the habit of having eggs for breakfast - although I usually have them boiled (with Lidl protein roll soldiers) and we still have butter - but I don't think I've eaten cabbage since the crack slaw which I think has completely put me off cabbage for life.
Love it - one of our favourite mealsDid you like it????

Not tried that one yet. Lidl were out of stilton earlierMe too. Especially the blue cheese one. Yum!
That's good. You can try Ask the Doctor but there is no guarantee it will be answered. That's why I suggested they change it. As they say they only have so much time per week to answer. The other option is to trawl through the questions that have an answer (I've done that). Sometimes you find it there because certain questions come up a lot (which again is why they need to change the format). Of course you can always ask us too! Sometimes we know the answerBgs are slowly descending
I was hoping they would as was getting worried it may be due to insulin resistance
Have just realised , ummmI wonder, breakfast today. Was three scrambled eggs and bacon but the last two days have included coconut milk and chia seeds porridge wotsit.....I will need to eat again minus the added raspberries and note any differences
I would like to know which is the best way of contacting DD if I have a pressing question??
Wondered where you had got to. It's a nasty disease Alzheimer's. My grandmother had it and I couldn't understand what was happening. Does your Mum still live at home?Back from galeswept Bournemouth - Mum slowly getting worse Alzheimer's wise
Glad to be back to strict low carbing and DD recipes - using the turkey cheese sauce on broccoli and cauliflower tomorrow and also making fathead pizza to have cold as packed lunch on Friday. Away from home overnight on Friday but got some chix breasts to cook with leeks in cream for Saturday night
I'd be pretty marked too but it wouldn't happen in our surgery. The way they operate is if you want an emergency appointment you phone at 8am. A GP will call you back that morning to discuss with you and will then make a decision whether you need to see a doctor or a nurse or if you need referred to hospital. If it's a doctor you are in that day. If it is serious serious then a GP is out to see you or they'll get an ambulance depending on what is happening. Certainly not receptionists making decisions.Ooohhhhh - I'm having a hissy fit!! I am SO angry!!!
So, Mr C went to a hospital appointment last week and various changes were made to his treatment. For reasons I don't understand the Consultant couldn't actually change Mr C's meds but told him to slowly come off some of them and then AS A MATTER OF URGENCY go to his GP to get something else which is more appropriate.
So Mr C phones surgery reception on Monday mentioning about it being urgent - sorry, no appointments, phone back tomorrow
He popped in to the doctors' reception yesterday morning and was told there was only one appointment available which is today but the Receptionist would have to read the Consultant's letter to make sure Mr C was an urgent enough case to take that appointment. SO SHE THEN READ IT OUT LOUD - THREE WHOLE TYPED PAGES OF IT and at the end of it she decided he could have that appointment because his meds were being stopped.
Mr C didn't think anything of it but I was furious - surely Receptionists shouldn't make clinical judgements like that. It seemed to me that she was deciding if the Consultant was correct in stating Mr C should see a GP urgently. Huh?
Sorry for the rant - just so frustrating! I've actually given up going to the doctor now I no longer need sick notes for work.
I don't know anything about the effects of insulin but @Chook does and I think @Brunneria too. I know @Chook got off hersChook the behaviour is bang out of order and totally unprofessional in my opinion! I would complain but that's me lol
Great news maglil on reply from DD, I will use that in future if needs be
Spoke to one of the diabetic nurses today as am concerned my bgs went slightly up again ( after me saying going down)
They blame the prednisalone which won't decrease for some time yet and have suggested I up the insulin units to 48!
Not happy. A known contributor to weight increase boohoo
Felt like throwing the towel in but haven't and want to see DD work for me

Incidentally , are you Type I or II? I'm a II. I know it is easy to get impatient and want immediate results but it doesn't work that way and you will get blips along the way.
I've had a look back at my figures. First week I was still getting 14's / 15's and was delighted with the odd 11. Also got a whopping 19.3. Second week 11/12/13's but still the odd 15 (thankfully the 19's had gone). Big difference was the 3rd week when I dropped into single figures 8/9's. I was a good 9 weeks in before I started to get more normal stable figures. I had quite a few blips as I said previously as I am prone to illness thanks to the mini germ carriers that invade my life (I love them dearly but they are germ prone and they love to share ) .
I think with steroids on the mix, all bets are off. They can drive blood glucose up higher than you might imagine.
I recall a post from someone who found their steroid eyedrops drove their bg up from 'normal' to something like 12! Although it was a while ago, and i may have got the detail a bit off, i am certain the rise was really unexpected.
So maybe just wait and see what happens?
You may find that the benefits of low carb can't compensate for your current dose of steroids? Of course, that is speculation.
Maybe you bg will inch lower, over time...? More speculation...
