Without having to read the whole thread, would somebody tell me what DD stands for? If it's any good good for lowering DP ( I know what that is ) ). I need to give it a go. Thank you all. X
sounds like an EXCELLENT plan!Just a thought, do you think that this might mean you having to have crack slaw every day for breakfast?

Seriously, though, for the last week or so (even the Off Piste Potato Excursions at the weekend) my readings have been consistently and smoothly the lowest ever recorded. The drop is probably around 0.5mmol/l across the board. Although I am still getting a rise to 7ish mid to late morning, which I can't seem to budge. But that is now my highest reading of the day.
I can only assume this 0.5 drop is because my insulin resistance is dropping, so my background insulin production is dropping too. Oh, and maybe by liver's glucose stores are depleting.
Interested to see if this continues.
I wonder what would happen if we swapped the lunch leftovers for breakfast, and then skipped lunch?
Although I am not sure that my morning rise is anything to do with food. I think it is just a side effect of my wake-up 'stress' hormones, and an unavoidable part of my daily routine. Gave up worrying about it a looooong time ago.
I tried for 3-4 years to avoid/eliminate/dodge the dratted thing, and now suspect that only a tiny bolus injection of insulin would do it - and that won't be happening any time soon. Hey ho. Not worth worriting about.
@Brunneria. I don't know much about Dr Bernstein except what it says on Wikipedia - but why do you think he'd let you have insulin. I am actually still prescribed insulin and keep some of both sorts in the fridge 'just in case' even though it's been 19 months since I used any.
I loved the frittata - had it again yesterday.
And the salad was indeed lovely and I still feel full. Carbs for today were a mere 5g - can't believe it.I managed to get little gems. Not my favourite but it will do. I just fancy a salad tonight so it will be M&S big prawns, lettuce, tomato, walnuts, cheese, red pepper , boiled egg , avocado and of course Helmanns.
That's a good idea! I liked the flavour of the jerk chicken but all the crushed pork scratchings slid off.Oh wow!
Of all the recipes in week 1 the one i was looking forward to least, was the jerk chicken - but it was delicious!
- i did substitute ground flaxseed rather than pork rinds, which worked much better than expected.
