Diagnosed in 2015 and for 10 years have kept to between 48 and 53 Hb1c but last bllood test was 56. I was surprised as I thought it would be under 53. Should I now consider Meformin?? if I can't keep to this low level

Hi @Edinburgh , many people on the forum control their diabetes using a low carb diet and no meds. What is your diet like, maybe there is room for improvement by adjusting your meals?

Hi Rachox what is Rybelsus 7mg daily? I did try self monitoring but found the results varied widely depending on which finger I used. Will get back to lots of walking and low carb thanks for the reply

Rybelsus is a tablet version of semaglutide (Ozempic is the injectable version). Last year I swapped to Victoza a similar injection to Ozempic from Metformin which I don’t tolerate any more. Then Victoza became unavailable so was switched to Rybelsus. That and a low carb diet keeps my blood sugars at normal levels.
