I am struggling big time
My blood levels are ok and happy with them
I am just so hungry and am eating alot more, even admitting to eating some wrong things
I am bipolar and am on a new med for that, for which my psych has said is known for making people eat more and can cause higher levels in diabetics. He has prescribed a lowish dose and won,t increase it because of those two side effects. The anti psycotic is really with my bipolar.
I am not entirely blaming the med because that's too easy as an excuse.
I am starting to put weight on again after trying very hard to lose 7st
I just Don, t know what to do
 
@ally1 - Why not have a couple of weeks of just concentrating on eating well and regularly, filling up with vegetables, then think about trying to get back to weight loss.

I appreciate mounds of vegetables aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they surely can fill a space, and with some butter over them the are quite sustaining.

Keep fighting the good fight. :)
 
I agree with AndBreathe but also can you plan your meals so you have healthy food available?-this helps me a lot. And I plan for one snack and then try to do something else instead of eating if I feel hungry in between meals and planned snack. Have an activity you enjoy planned-like doing a puzzle, knitting or take a walk, play forum games-something you enjoy doing. I drink water, coffee with milk, or unsweetened tea now instead of fizzy drinks, juice or milk. Drinking water really helps- but all things in moderation.:)
 
I planned my food for the day, with set amounts at set times, including snacks between the main meals.
Then if I did feel hungry, I knew I had a set meal/snack coming up within a reasonable time, so it made it easier to hold off.
But between that, water certainly helped.
 
I know how you feel Ally I have the same problem I crave for sweet things it is really hard at the moment
 
I have put on two stone ally I got down to 15 really loved being lighter but I love food.
 
I have always eaten what some people regard as tiny amounts when I eat low carb according to Atkins.
When I thought about food this morning I ate a bit of pork from yesterday's dinner, and it is now almost 5pm and I have not felt the need for anything else. It is quite usual when in ketosis to lose weight, particularly when I have not had any carbs. I am going to go shopping and buy cream for my coffee so that I don't have to drink lactose.
Eating low carb seems to be an easy way to lose weight, and it is lowering my BG levels week by week. It is not difficult to stick to, with a bit of planning, and it can be for life - particularly when not controlling blood glucose can mean a miserable existence and premature death - that is a real incentive.
 
Keep cooked veg available. Add cheese, nuts, cream. All the naughties hun. Spoil yourself. You don't need nasty carbs. You deserve only the best. Carbs are cheap and nasty. ♡♥♡
 
I have depression, I asked a doctor once is it the drugs make me fat or hungry he said hungry so I had a choice stay hungry or fat I can tell you know I have been both and right now I am both hungry and fat but I have had bought of good control until my blood sticks were stopped I'm type 2 I used test 8 before and after food and kept my sugar spot on till then
 
@ally1 I feel for you. Sorry no bright ideas. You have done so well and so much progress since I joined the site. All I can think is what others have said about increasing the veg. Just look for anything you really enjoy that's low carb.

Thank you. I do think the anti psycotic is also partly to blame. My pdoc said it's a very common thing, so when I next see him, I will see what he says
