have you got an example of a daily menu that you have today I've had rasberries , blubaarris and Greek yogurt nd a couple of walnuts for lunch scrambeld egg 2 pics of bacon i thin slice black pudding tonight will be salmon fillet and eg ll done in the ninja cheers
Today is a bit unusual as I've been travelling and driving for about four/five hours. Context is we've been away for a week on a family holiday and I have been a bit more relaxed on carbs than usual, which for me basically meant more alcohol, rather than chips and pies.
So today:
7am Coffee about half a moka pot with cream.
1130 3 fried eggs plus the whites of two more (someone doesn't eat egg whites), bacon (lots), mushrooms, black pudding, sausage. Sausage was good but a bit suspect on carbs and probably had far more filler than I'd choose if I was at home. More coffee, large black. Maybe 20g carb, mainly from the black pudding.
3pm another black coffee
Got home about 4, have had a can of coke zero. Done with caffeine now.
I'm not hungry at the moment and might not eat again today. If I do decide to eat anything substantial I would have a SRSLY 6g carb wrap with leftover roast lamb and chili sauce (unsweetened, it's basically mashed up chillis in olive oil). If I have something less than a meal it would probably be some salami, olives and cheese (I have some really good stuff from the Mousetrap in Ludlow).
So even with the lamb wrap I am probably on or around my 20-25g daily target, maybe a bit above. I hadn't bothered testing at all today as the adrenalin from driving was going to make too much noise for sensible readings.
To give you a fuller picture I just did a fingerprick and it's at 5.3, which is where I usually am, and I'm showing weak ketones, which is again what I'd expect. Thing to remember is that I have been doing this for over five years now and my system is used to it, and much better at dealing with a bit of extra carb than it was. It's also better at switching out of ketosis for a few hours and switching easily back in.
Update: it's going to be some cheese and olives and salami.
