Hi

can someone explain to me why there are two main websites this one ( which is my preferred) and Diabetes.org?

Or is it too political? :)

I'm sure that the mods will correct me if am wrong, but I believe that the org site is the original pre-internet UK diabetes site, and is a registered charity. It used to be (still is?) known as the British diabetic association and I became a life time member as a child, though I stopped receiving communications from them when I left the UK at the end of the last century. It used to have a printed magazine called "Balance".

This site is internet only and I'm not sure whether it has any connection with the BDA, though it is excellent in terms of information and forums.

They are two completely different organisations. Www.diabetes.org.uk is the website for the charity Diabetes UK (I think this is what @EllieM means by "UK diabetes") . Diabetes UK is the largest diabetes charity in the UK. As well as the website, magazines, advocacy, blogs and training, they campaign the government to change laws and (e.g. They led the campaign to allow Libre to be used for bg readings when driving) and fund research.
They are a lot more than a website.
