Just had latest HB1Ac reading. 6.2. plus comments about pre-diabetes. That's after a long blameless spell on keto, but I am taking a statin. Very disappointed. Meeting with diabetes Nursie in a couple of weeks.

Can you give some context as to the reason for your disappointment, @Outlier ?

I note your profile says you are T2 diet controlled. So, to be in pre-diabetes range would be an improvement.

Also, looks good for a person the age your profile says you are.

The disappointment was that the figure wasn't lower, as my fingerprick tests are usually in the 5s, and that my efforts to control my BG have put me in 'pre-diabetes' according to the paperwork. There isn't much else - or anything else - I can do. I have had a stroke, so can't exercise beyond the considerable effort it takes me to walk, using a zimmer.
Thank you for such a supportive reply.

@Outlier, sometimes our bodies don’t cooperate as we think they should, particularly after we have put in time and effort in trying to control an out of range result. I went on a very low carb diet <30 gms carbs per day for 9 months expecting my HbA1c results would be in the low 5’s, my blood sugars barely budged. I was very disappointed to say the least . I know it’s disappointing , but 6.2, although in the pre diabetes range, it seems to me a manageable result and only just out of range.
