If you are speaking of your diabetic consultant that may be so but if you are refering to MG and neurologist that will never happen I actually missed a face to face appointment with my neurologist last week he called me on the phone to make sure I was ok then made me another appointment I have been told that they would never discharge a patient due to missed appointment where life threatening conditions are involved. All my phone appointments come with a warning. There will be 2 attempted calls and if no response, I will be discharged. I am sure if you phone and explain, it should be sorted out.
I have all sorts of appointments, cardio, vascular, neuro etc. They all come through a portal, all with the same warning.i

You are fortunate. My experience is different. Two misses and I am discharged. It's at the bottom of all my letters for various appointments with specialists for myself and my family.i

I agree. 3 years ago I had an appointment at fracture clinic as I had broken my wrist (falling on some ice) We had alot of snow that morning and I phoned to cancel as I wasn't sure I would be able to do the 20 mile round trip and return safely home again. I had already cancelled the automatic appointment they had sent me as I had a more urgent appointment booked for my aunt at another hospital 30 miles away that day. I was told to definitely not come for the appointment on that snowy day as they didn't want people with broken limbs out in the snow, and that they would send me another automated one and if I couldn't attend that then I would be taken off the list! You are fortunate.
