disposing of lancets & BG strips

Hi,
How do people dispose of their lancets & BG strips, I know they need to be disposed into a sharps bin but where do you get these from and where can you dispose of the sharps bin if you are buying your own strips and lancets and not getting supplied from the GP's?

You can get sharps safes very cheaply from Lloyds Pharmacies (VAT free as well as you are a diabetic) and they will dispose of the full ones for you provided you've closed it up correctly
