Do I have diabetes?

my pee smells like ammonia.

As far as the smell of urine, diabetes is on a list of possibilities which would contain bladder stones, dehydration, UTI or food (asparagus for example).

My hands smell sweet

Could be lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, but these would have accompanying symptoms including weakness, frequent thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, loss of breath, nausea, vomiting and a sweet or fruity smell on the breath

constant headache

So many possibilities, too many to mention.

I'm no doctor and what I've mentioned is the sort of information one can obtain by googling. Possibly not a great idea if you have a tendency to worry, especially on the headaches which can be anything from tension to anxiety to something worse. As has already been mentioned the very best option is to see a doctor who will hopefully put your mind at rest.

There really are some things that cannot be solved by friendly but non-professional people on an Internet forum. Every minute you spend worrying about this, and trawling the net, would be far better spent picking up the phone to make that doctor's appointment.

Are you scared of doctors of something? The last time I came across someone who had a doctor-phobia and avoided doctors for years, it did not end well.

Only a doctor can diagnose you, with the appropriate blood tests. We can't do this. Your symptoms could be anything.

Ok, my first piece of advice , is go see a doctor, but honestly, I'd try drinking a lot of water first. Monitor the colour of your urine and measure the frequency of your visits to the throne room. Listen to your body. Sometime my urine is like honey because I haven't drunk enough that day, so it's very concentrated, rather like your first pee of the morning if you get my drift.
