Do other people ever listen?

Hi
I am new to this too and have only been doing lchf a few weeks. I have done the same as you and cut out the obvious carbs and just stuck to fresh foods. I haven't made it complicated as I wanted to get used to eating in a different way, and I intend to introduce more detail into my diet over time. I must say, my bg was normal within two weeks of starting lchf and I have lost weight. I use the app myfitnesspal which calculates your calories depending on your weight and activity levels, and also enables you to gauge you carb, protein etc intake.

I would suggest just keeping it simple to start with, you can always fine tune it as you go. I still struggle with getting my head round the amount of fat I need to consume, and still feel naughty having cream and full fat yoghurt!

I think I am going to download that too. At the moment it's been a bit free fall and I wasn't sure how to measure what I was doing. I also need to keep it as simple as possible at the moment just to get myself into it properly :)

Know what you mean about fat...it's like a gift but one you feel naughty about :)

I am just cooking grilled bacon right now, yummy. The odd bit of fat ain't going to hurt, everything in moderation lol

Hi captainkirst, I have been lchf and eating to my meter now since September....just got back from my doctors and my hba1c is down to 5.3 from 28.5 all that in just under three months....and I can confirm I ate 100 grams of carbs and plenty of fats it does work...keep it up!

Hi Clive,

That's really reassuring - I have downloaded the my fitness pal app today - just so I can get the ratios a bit accurate - for me, it could be easy to slip into eating too much of one and not enough of the other. I obviously want my BS to be good but I am in desperate need of weight loss also. So hoping that this will help with that - hence why I am a bit of a worrier...haha.

Well I was diagnosed t2 about 2yrs ago...my doc said take these metformin500 morning and night and try and curb anything sweet from your diet...and lose some weight, at this time I was 16st.7lbs.......(not a mention of meters etc) anyway just cut the sugar and sugar laden stuff...which didn't make much difference and carried on as usual....still having neuropathy in my feet and night sweating and not losing any weight, finally in September of this year found this forum and I began to see that I had big changes to make , got myself a meter from the chemist and started to learn how to lchf , well from September down to today with the help of the wonderful people on this forum I have stuck to the lchf regime, I now weigh 13st.12lbs and my visit to my doctors today for my blood results was most encouraging :)) my hba1c is now 5.3 down from 28.5 in the three months since I learnt to control my bs by meter and lchf :)) my doctor said how have you achieved these fantastic results....I told him and he said ....good keep it up. I'm very pleased by the results and all the advice and great encouragement that I received :)) I would not be where I am now without this wonderful group and forum :)) thanks and merry Xmas
