I have voted "Yes - other"
Which can be taken as roughly:
I have noted the advice about carbs on this site and followed SOME of it
I do think carbs are not emphasised enough (as a thing to cut down on) by the HCPs.
I have reduced my carb intake and improved my blood glucose control and reduced my weight - two out of three of these please my diabetes nurse greatly; I ignored her platitudes about needing to eat plenty of carbs.
However I don't have a carb counting book and I don't practice carb counting - I just cut out the major processed carb sources most of the time.
Also, I do have a meter and I do test for several days from time to time but I don't test every day or every week even. I don't have any problems getting test strips and lancets as my GP is very supportive, and impressed by the output of the computer tool which can read and graph my results.
So (especially after having read the link for new members again) I follow some (most?) but not all of the advice.
I still find it hard not to eat carbs, but the less carbs I eat the less cravings I have.
Good luck with the poll.
