Do you try to walk daily no matter the weather?

I really look forward to my walk on an evening along the promenade , last night couldn't walk as the weather was so bad blowing a gale and hammering with rain . I really missed it .

I do try to walk even if it is raining .

How about you ?

Yes, every day. Once in the morning and once around 5pm. No choice. The dog nags us from half an hour before our normal times and continues until the harness comes out. :) When the weather is really bad, we just go round the block. Not because we don't like it, but because the dog doesn't like it!

And today I did my first ever proper 5K run. I walked/jogged really but was still pleased with my time. It was zero degrees at the start and very wet under foot.
I'm starting a training programme in January but I will need to keep an eye on my bg levels. If they go up when I run, is that necessarily a bad thing?

My timeline from Google maps says I walked 5 km this month, this does not include the walking while I play bowls a couple of days a week though. :D

I do try to, however the cold isn’t good for my arthritic joints, so I use a stepper indoors in the warm when I can’t face the cold. Put something good on the telly and step away!

The first thing I've got to say is well done! Any exercise, whatever you can manage, is good for you and will help your health.
Many people find their bg levels can go up if they exercise, this is a response to the stress and elevated heart rate, causing the liver to dump reserve glucose into your system as a response, which you're unable to quickly use.
The good news is that as you get fitter this will happen less often and less severely as your body is more able to deal with the effort you're requiring of it. It's worth keeping going. If you have problems with high bg, maybe don't push yourself as hard as quickly, gently step up over time. Of course, you may have no problem! See how it goes. Good luck!

I average an hour walk a day in the morning. If it's snowing, I don't go because the ice patches are hidden. Couple years back I was out walking in the snow, fell and injured my knee so bad I couldn't walk for 2 weeks - no sense in that.

I walk into town about three or four times a week, last saturday afternoon went to renew my library book. This was my reason for going. Before the walk went my step counter was showing a measly 1600 - so really needed the exercise. It was miserably cold, raining and would have been so much easier and pleasanter to renew online.

edited for typo

I enjoy the challenge of not allowing the weather to win over the “Diabetes Shuffle.” This constitutional (I’ve found), lowers BG post meal.

It’s not a work out that rises BG but a moderate pace for 20 to 30 minutes.

Here, it means spending $ as it can go -20F but ebay is a help.

It feels victorious to not let weather stop us.

Yes every day to walk the dog except in torrential rain. I hate the cold but the dog doesn't so she will nag until we go out

As I said earlier, my dogs nags us to death for her walks. If it is torrential rain we open the door to show her, so she runs to the back door in case it isn't raining at the back. :)

I use both.

The intensity exercises raise my BG, yet I believe long term will increase sensitivity (low carb eating)

The “constitutional” walk is easier & lowers BG.
