Its the 2 nd part of message see you saw first one for some reason didnt want to do attachment. Thank you for replying but still in the dark as what to do till ThursdayA bit more information would help with understanding what you are showing us.
What medication?
What is your diet like - did you eat something particularly high in carbs tot get the 18? - that is presumably mmol/l
Thanks will be my next option as I cant even get a phone call from Surgery fir rest of the weekIf you cannot reach your own GP - try 111.
Yes did post extensivly weekend I am low carb now for 3 years with great success till March . I am a year in menopause...and everything is high wire. I ate exactly the same things the day after the 18 reading and sugars was 12.3. I can have just an egg fried in butter and have 8 next day 14...I think my only option is to find a good endocrinologist and go privately. Doctor this morning had no udea about low carb...he said my readings / full menu of last month means very little to him except that medication isnt working...I feel very furstratedIts the 2 nd part of message see you saw first one for some reason didnt want to do attachment. You awesome thanksClaudette if what you're saying at the beginning of this thread is you posted two threads that really are one, the threads can be merged for you, if that would be helpful?
I haven't read both threads, but just giving you the option to bring things together if that would be helpful to you. It's also fine to leave then separated.
If you want anything merged, just tag me, or any of the Mods by typeing the @ symbol immediately before our user name, like this, @claudetteholmes .
Thats the problem 3 rd doctor in 2 months nurse seen x2. But will wait for appointment with nurse next week and then make a noise. In the meantime I will search for a endocrinologistFind another doctor and go from there.
Great advice. Honestly in the south west found 111 to be useless so not an option. I continue medication half dose as tonights reading is "good " without Manage to speak to an endocrinologist tonight will make appointment tomorrow but he was honest might take me 10 weeks. He suggest same as you to insist on basic tests. In his words be persistent now to go and beg for refferal letter. Honestly speak more to surgery than my mom.Hi. You need to ask for the two tests for T1 i.e. GAD and c-peptide. I had mine done privately as my GP was useless. In the meantime if it was me I would ask to continue the Gliclazide until your diagnosis is confirmed and you are possibly moved to insulin. It may be wroth getting some Ketostix to check for ketones. If these are high together with high blood sugar e.g. into the 20s or above then you may need to go to A&E as it can be dangerous. Personally I myself wouldn't bother with 111 as it isn't staffed by medics but it's your choice.
I sympathise. I've had to fire many doctors or other health professionals over the years, including head-of-department hospital specialists. I know in the UK it's particularly hard to get help in the NHS so if you have any ability to go private, even for a GP visit, I encourage you. I've been reading NZ guidelines for diabetes (which are essentially the same in other countries) and I've drawn some red lines for myself based on them.Thats the problem 3 rd doctor in 2 months nurse seen x2. He's right, time to get even more assertive. What's the worst that can happen? They get offended? It's not their eyesight, kidneys and legs that need saving. Your right to access appropriate care is protected by law.Great advice. Honestly in the south west found 111 to be useless so not an option.
