Type of diabetes
Don't have diabetes
Treatment type
I do not have diabetes
And how long do you spend sleeping / in bed ?

I generally go in bed about 12:30, go to sleep near 3:00 and get up about 2:00 pm

My sleeping pattern used to be just like! :) I found diabetes aside I felt much more tired/groggy for first part of the day- for me personally I found some kind of strange reverse appetite effect (I felt more hungry towards late evening and didn't have interest in food at the beginning of the day).

I'd say as long as you make sure you go to bed with a stable blood sugar level if you're going to be sleeping longer hours, to avoid hypos or hypers- pickling overnight with high bloods feels rotten.

Sorry for my bad grammar mistake title !

Interesting maxy! Do you feel better now way getting up earlier ?

It makes me feel **** getting up late..bit find it so hard getting up before 12 !

I've ready oversleeping can lead to diabetes ..is it the sleeping or just being inactiive for a long period of time

Not doing enough exercise, wether intense or slightly intense is in general just good for you!
A good sleeping pattern is also good.
I used to have sleep disruption constantly.
If you are sleeping that long every day, there is not much wrong, you have chosen to do this!
If you don't work regular hours or attend college or school your lateness of hour is understandable. It doesn't mean anything.
Lots of people can sleep for England. I once knew a guy who would regularly sleep for over twenty four hours or more at weekends and needed a few alarm clocks to get him up for work!

I thought I'd feel better, but I still feel like I need more sleep the whole time- there is no winning sometimes.. It was worst when I was at university and when I was working as a contractor/freelancer (could choose my own working hours).

I know how you feel it's a really easy pattern to get into! I found it did more to my mind than by body if anything.

*Personally I agree with Nosher, as long as you exercise and eat well- disrupted sleep cycle alone shouldn't do much harm. My advice if you want to knock it into an even orbit would be to do a decent/regular exercise regime if you don't already. It really helps you get deep natural sleep and feel more tired at a regular time, also get blood flowing in mind/extremities keeping some of the grogginess at bay and making you feel more 'alive'.
