If you have had one TSP of sugar about an hour before a blood test for diabetes and the result is 7.7 is that a sign you are a diabetic? Is that high? Nothing to eat at all.

Hi. This doesn't really tell you much. 7.7 isn't very high as anything below 8.5 after food is in a good range. You need to test 2 hours after a reasonable meal and the reading should be less than 8.5. Better tests are the Glucose Tolerance Test (GGT) and the Hba1C which need to be done by the local surgery.

Your sister should know the answer to this, so why don't you ask her?

Is not to do with her its to do with me. She's really does not know much about diabetes we are both still learning so much to learn finding it all a bit complicated, as soon as I think I know something someone has a different opinion. So its back to the drawing board hehe.

Like I said before, if your sister-in-law is the diabetic with little knowledge and who is barred from emigrating to Australia due to her diabetes and weight, then it would seem a good idea to suggest that she joins the site where she can discuss and learn herself directly, perhaps with her partner, if she has one. And you can avoid further disagreements with her.

Seems like since you are having to ask so many basic questions by proxy and can't persuade your sister in law to join a site for diabetics there's very little you can do on here.

Yes I agree. It's unfortunate that your sister-in-law doesn't feel able to chat herself or sit with you whilst you ask questions on her behalf.
Good luck to you both.

I think the point made is these have all been asked and answered a million times before. A quick look at previous posts will often provide you with a suitable answer.
This is a really strange subject.

Good luck.
