Does pain, cause glucse levels to be elevated?

I think I have bruised my lung laying in bed with my weight on one elbow, playing chess on Duo lingo, symtoms are a persistant cough, shortness of breath and a sharp pain under my shoulder blade wgen ever I coughI'm not eating any extra, but my levels are higher than usual?

It’s possible that the pain etc could be giving you elevated BG levels, but so can other things such as infection & any illness

But if I was in your shoes with those symptoms, especially shortness of breath & pain my first port of call would be getting it checked out either at A&E or calling 111 for medical advice rather than asking on a forum, those symptoms, especially shortness of breath & pain can be symptoms of quite a few things, some that could be serious, I’d get yourself checked out to be on the safe side

For some, pain raises blood glucose, for me it doesn't.

Infections or inflammation do raise my BG though, and while your symptoms may be caused by laying wrong, it could also be you have something else going on.
I agree with @lovinglife , best to get it checked out.
If I suddenly see higher numbers than usual, some sort of inflammation is my main suspect, especially with symptoms.
