So earlier this week I was experiencing eye floaters, frequent urination, and fatigue so I had planned on scheduling an appointment. However the earlier I was able to get one was Wensday. Today, a couple hours ago mainly I am feeling tiny buzzes in my hands and feet. I don't know if this is because I'm paranoid about the whole situation or what. It is like these tiny buzzes, like goosebumps in a sense. I also feel a slight cold burn like sense through my hand. I don't know if this is because I used the computer too much today doing editting for a project or what. I am an 18 year old male. How does nerve damage with diabetes work? Would one day make a difference between my nerves being damaged? Am I just being paranoid? help

I have no way to test my blood sugars as I'm not sure I have diabetes because my appointment is on wensday. Also I finished a meal recently and below my thumb is a clear burning sensation. Is this bad, or could it be something else?

Well I wouldn't say any burning sensation is good but I wouldn't blame it on diasbetes yet either. What make you think you have diabetes?

Ramyzee - basically, mate..it's impossible to say much accurately without an indicator of your blood sugar levels. It seems unlikely to me that you would have nerve damage and problems with your eyes etc if you have not had symptoms before (although you may have been diabetic for some time undiagnosed - seems unlikely given your age, that it's not been picked up). To be honest a million and one small infections (totally zilch to do with diabetes) cause fatigue and urine issues...even blurred vision, headaches, tingly feelings etc. My advice, however patronising it sounds - no point thinking anything until you know if you even are diabetic! No doubt the doctor will test for a few things. IF...if..you are diabetic...persuade the doctor to give you meter so you can self test and get in control through diet (but he may be reluctant if its Type 2). Note - many, many people who think they may be diabetic or get a diagnosis do get a bit freaked out and paranoid until rationality sets in. Chances are - it's something else altogether. If not - like mnay of us here - you WILL deal with it. Worrying gets you nowhere except more worried. Wait for the facts...not the imagined hell! Stress is hardly gonna help. Also - you could be a wee bit dehydrated...so drink water...more regularly. Good luck - let us know.

Ramyzee, I understand your sense of overwhelm, but the best thing you can do, you have already done, by making an appointment with the doc. Let us all know the outcome of your consultation and try to ensure they test. If you need us,mew are here and let me assure you, diabetes does not have to be end of the world.
