Right I have been mulling over this for a couple of days... would appreciate some input..
I have been seeing the same consultant now every three months or a number of years, and he is even open to the odd e-mail discussion... we have a good relationship and he is willing to have an informed conversation reference my diabetes and control.
Tuesday I had my annual audit and he was on holiday so had my results discussed with a Registrar... who it seems without asking any questions had made their mind up before I walked in the room as to what my control was like, etc... etc... Ensure an hour long discussion about how terrible I am reference tight control, reduced carb diets, the use of two different fast acting insulins and being on Insulatard rather than a standard basal... (all of which has been discussed and agreed to previously...) which only really ended when I showed her my meter and the number of sub 3.6 mmol/l readings I have had in the last 90 days (zero out of nearly 850 readings).. at least then she had to concede I wasn't passing out every day from hypo's and I might just understand my body a little better than her...
I am used to normally having productive appointments and was/am really irritated about how the appointment went... given the length of the discussion I didn't get to ask any of the questions I had planned to and am generally really cross about the way I was treated like an idiot... I am an adult I am informed and I am conscientious.. so why treat me like an idiot... it wasn't even like she had a coherent argument... *rage* just generalisation
Anyway's I am in two minds now as to whether I should send an e-mail stating my displeasure or let it ride and hope I don't have the pleasure of her company again? Thoughts?
