I’m on 1500mg Glucophage (not XR)

No one on here can say yes or no to that as any medical advice is a big no no on this site.
I had to come off ordinary metformin because of the gut problems it caused me. Not everyone is troubled that way. Even the slow release on 1000mg caused problems.
Can you say more about what your recommended dosage is and why you want to take it at once and how long you’ve been taking it.
I’m sure someone will be along shortly with further insight.

As @Taighnamona says we can’t give medical advice or advice on how to take medication, you say you’ve had conflicting advice, where was this advice from? Does it say in the label on the box or in the patient info leaflet when & how to take it?

Perhaps speak to your pharmacist, I always find them very helpful & more knowledgeable than GPs where medication is concerned

If you speak to a pharmacist, they will explain, but my own understanding is Metformin is an accumulative drug and doesn't work at short notice so to speak, you are merely topping up the amount that is in your system. The Pharmacist will have the answer. They are the ones to speak to.

I can only write about my experience of Metformin as we can’t advise what you should do @Jujuju22 . I was on Metformin previously. The same daily amount as you and it was suggested I took 1000mg with breakfast and 500mg with supper. But you must discuss this with your dr or pharmacist.
