Hi, Ive just realised that I took the double amount of Lantus. Normally I take 23 units of Lantus but today I did it twice so 46 units at all. What can I do? I injected Lantus and after that I realised that I had did it already. I feel anxiety now. Im going to sleep and I dont know what can happen.
My parents control my bs during the night so they are with me just in case.

my advice would be to set some alarms on a phone to check your bloods during the night
I would test at either 1 hour or at most 2 hour intervals

you will most like see your bloods drop after 3-5 hours and they could stay low or drop further without eating some carbs
I would suggest 20 carb of a fast acting type followed by a 20 carb slow acting -- and then test again and repeat if low an hour later.

My parents are blaming me on this accident. I just forgot about this! And they tell that Im an independent boy, that im careless and that I think I find diabetes as a joke. Whhy?

Even the most experienced diabetics have done this or something similar at point.

I'm sure your parents have sometimes had that horrible feeling that they've left the oven on or left a window open and gone out. We can all be forgetful.

I second the advice above, 2 hourly tests for the next 12 (if you split your basal) or 24 hours with regular top-up snacks of 15-25g carbs would be my approach. The most important thing is to not go to sleep without at least one nice loud alarm set to go off every hour or two.

On the plus side you're gonna get to munch plenty of snacks tonight and tomorrow.

No its not a plus because Im thinking of losing weight :(
My bs was quite high(180-200) and now i have 190

One day of extra carbs won't make you fat, just make some healthy choices like apples, milk, a slice of toast and go do some exercise once your extra basal wears off.

Keep a close eye on your sugars and you should be fine, just don't take your eye off those blood sugars as the slow creeping basal hypos can be the hardest to spot.

I dont know, Ill probably stay awake all night, only testing bs an 2 hours

Hi
Please inform your parents that I did exactly the same thing you did, on Friday night.
I've been a type1 diabetic for the last 44years and it's an easy mistake to make especially if your schedule changes ie you go to bed early, have a flu or are stressed about something.

Glad you're OK :)

Because it's Lantus the effects will be very long lasting.

I used to be on Lantus and a couple of times actually forgot to do my Lantus. On the first day my blood sugars were OK and it was 36-48 hours later that I'd be correcting highs. You should still keep a close eye on your sugars for the next day or two and don't leave the house without plenty of hypo treatment on hand!

Crumbs your human not a robot ! I've done this a couple of times, most diabetics have done it, all it takes is to be distracted whilst injecting and bam..

You can buy a timed insulin pen: https://timesulin.com or speak to your team to see if they have a device they can give you.

Glad your ok ;)

Parents eh? Who'd have them????!

As said keep a closer eye on your blood sugars today and have hypo treatment easy to hand all the time - if you're at school/collage tell your best mate/someone you're with most of the day to just be a bit more on it with your T1 for you today.
