Hi all,
If your Blood Sugar is high, will drinking water help to get your levels down? Some days the reading doesn’t change that much, and if it can assist, it’s worth a try.

Hello @Saur Drinking water will not bring your BG levels down, it helps to flush the excess glucose out of your kidneys which is beneficial, however tackling the cause of the high BG levels is more important.

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
@Saur it usually works the other way round.

High BG makes your kidneys filter out the sugar.
Water is then needed to flush the kidneys out.
This makes you wee a lot which makes you thirsty.

If the kidneys aren't filtering out the sugar then drinking more just makes you wee more.
