You could be in the honeymoon period where your pancreas produces more insulin at the start of your diagnosis once it is no longer on so much stress.
The Honeymoon Phase amongst people with type 1 diabetes refers to the period of time shortly following diabetes diagnosis when the pancreas is still able to produce a significant enough amount of insulin to reduce insulin needs and aid blood glucose control.
Some people come off insulin altogether when in the honeymoon period.
Not sure I'd be so keen to move to a pump if I was getting your results on MDI, might be worth waiting till the honeymoon ends???
